If your blog post's featured images are fairly low resolution, you may want to delete the top image canvas. Your blog will still look gorgeous, but the top banner section looks best when you upload an image that's 2500px on the long side. You can also use our fave TinyJpeg to make them small so your blog posts still load quickly!

Maternity Photos at the Manhattan Beach Pier

February 1, 2026

The Manhattan Beach pier at sunset is an iconic South Bay location for maternity photos. This maternity session was just dripping in golden light with the beautiful pier in the background. When discussing locations for their photos, this family really wanted a place that represented their personality and vibe, and this beautiful spot did not disappoint! It’s one of the things they immediately said after receiving their gallery – “the photos really represent us and our style.” That stuck with me, because when investing in photos it’s so important that they represent who you guys are. At the end of the day, it’s your story that I’m telling through my lens. I want your photos to feel like you. And location plays a big role in the overall feel and aesthetic of your photos.

Maternity photos at the Manhattan Beach pier offer more than just a scenic backdrop. They create a feeling. The soft sand, the sound of the waves, and the way the light hits through the pier all add to the magic. This beach is perfect for those who want maternity photos that are both timeless and relaxed. If you’re dreaming of maternity photos that feel like a love letter to this season of life, the Manhattan Beach Pier is one of my favorite places to create them.

I love true to life color and simple edits. I want your photos to stand the test of time. I love glowy golden hour light just as much as I love soulful black and whites. I love when you look at a photo and feel the image more than you see the image. I love laughter and silliness and quiet and connection. I love the unique story that gets told with every person I have the honor of working with.
