Frequently asked questions

When should maternity photos be scheduled?

What should I wear?

Not to worry, once you are booked I will send you my complete Session and Style Guide that will go into detail on this! But in the meantime, here's the quick version.

For Maternity photos, long flowy dresses are a great option. I recommend lighter colors, as black/dark colors tend to hide the belly.  And if you really want to show off the bump, I'm always down for a beach shoot in your bikini! Jeans with a sports bra/cropped top is another cute option I love.

How do I book?

Simply reach out to me through my website contact form and let me know you want to book a Maternity photo shoot. We'll pick a date and I'll send you over a contract. Once you've signed the contract and paid the $150 deposit, your session is secured. The remaining balance will be due 1 day prior to our session.

Do you have suggestions for locations?

Yes!  I have lots of favorite South Bay Los Angeles locations to shoot at depending on the vibe you are going for.  Whether it's the beach or a more woodsy field like setting, we will find what is right for your family. I have great spots for when young kids are involved, as I love to let kids explore and play!  So locations that allow more of this are ideal.

When will I get my photos?

You will receive your beautiful online gallery of fully edited images within 2 weeks.  All galleries come with the ability to share, download, and easily print your images.

I've found the sweet spot for your Maternity photo shoot to be between 30 and 34 weeks.  By this point your belly is nice and prominent, and you are still feeling good and are able to enjoy the experience of having maternity photos taken. However, every woman is different and there are no hard rules to this. Something to consider - generally speaking, expecting moms show a bit later with their first baby, and a bit earlier with subsequent babies.  Therefore a second time mom might be showing sooner and can get away with doing photos on the earlier side.  Whereas a first time mom might be better off waiting a little longer to be sure her belly has popped.
